Does anyone know where you can buy a fiberglass model kit to build one? I heard they are available but I can't find one anywhere.

I guess I posted this wrong. :) I wanted to know if anyone knows where we can buy a fiberglass kit to build our own Tucker? I said a model kit and that sounds like I'm looking for a little fake one. :) I want to build the real deal.

IDA's website seems curiously dead-ended; the Tucker link within it would NOT work for me. Only information I could get at all was:

Tucker Sales -
tel: 732-591-2630

I've seen the car in person and it looked fantastic. Only thing beyond the low ride height that was a detraction (IMO) was that the driver & passengers sit very low in it- I assume a more 'natural' seat -height-wise- is a possibility.

Calling all Tucker Cars, Calling all Tucker Builders

Looking to Build Tucker Cars, NOT CLONES; NOR KITS.

Classic Muscle is the Largest Restoration shop in the US, we at Classic Muscle love the focus and drive Preston Tucker made in the Auto Industry.
Because of Preston Tucker and his drive, this is what gave me the drive I have today. As the biggest in the Industry and having friends like Dean Kruse, the owner of #003 (george lucas car before the Aurban Show in Sept) "MAKING TUCKERS" this would again make history in the Auto Industry.

TO CONTINUE HIS DREAM! AND IDEAS!

As a builder myself, I would like some Input from the masses, and ideas regarding this platform, I feel this can be developed. Of coarse this not a simple task.

Just looking for comments:

I remember someone wanting to do this about 15 years ago while in the Tucker Club....
IDA has been the closest in doing this but even their cars go for
$150,000 plus.... and they're basicly plastic!
To have a car produced even on a small scale... I can't even imagine
the cost... But it is a dream I think we, that enjoy this model, all have.
I'd buy one in a minute and drive it everyday if one could be built for
a reasonable price.
It was rumored that dies still exist though I think they would have surfaced by now.... It would be great just being able to stamp
out the metal bodies for a kit.

Best of Luck and Keep us posted.

As stated, An 2005/2006 New Tucker is what we are talking about. This again would make history, since we have dangled the idea out to collecters, the response is overwhelming. Buyers from all over the world will pay up to #250,000. for a new innovated upgraded real Tucker Car.

Which by the way sells in #2 and/or #1 CONDITION for over $500,000. So with that in mind, $250,000. is a no brainer.

Anymore question please contact us!

What makes you think you can be successful at $250,000 when IDA was unsuccessful at $150,000? Even at the one car he was able to sell at that price (to Japan), he never came close to breaking even.

FYI, only 1 real Tucker '48 has surpassed the $500,000 mark (1043). That was a true concours restoration by world-reknowned RM Restorations, not a #2 car. That was also with the buyer's premium added in.

You are incorrect, I have talked to other owners, they have offers in the range of $345,000 to $500,000. Plus these, other kits and clones are not the real deal.

#1003 just sold for $350,000 and Classic Muscle is restoring it for the next buyer already holding at $500,000.

We are talking remanufactured New Tuckers.

We are the largest restoration shop in the US, we do this professionally.

Sorry, for the Ideas, I grow up on Preston Tucker, my family and training has been through alot of inventors. Our group already has over 66 patents in different industries as of 2004. We have been in big business's for over 30 years.

How would you manufacture these and where...
Building exact replicas would mean metal bodies.
How about the engines would you build the same engines too?
All the littles things radios, meters, steering wheels, tail lights
the list goes on and on...

Don't get me wrong would love, LOVE to own one but
building a 1948 car in 2005. Do you think you could really
have the financial backing it would take to take on this project?

So many have talked before about doing this... And nobody has
come close with the exception of IDA being the only ones to
build Plastic replicas. What would the price be for a completed
car?
I think there would be more interested in some type of
metal body build-it-yourself kit.

Would love to see someone “Revive the Legend”
Hope it's you and I hope I can buy one... best of luck!
